Hybrid Conference: Archaeology of Food and Foodways

Invitation to the Conference on the Archaeology of Food and Foodways

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to the hybrid Conference on Archaeology of Food and Foodways, which will take place from December 5–6 2024 at the Institute of History and Philology, Academia Sinica (IHP). This event is co-organized by the IHP, the Society for East Asian Archaeology (SEAA), and the Taiwan Center for Pacific Studies at National Taiwan University. It is generously sponsored by the IHP and the National Science and Technology Council.

Participation is free and lunch will be provided during the conference. Participants are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel and accommodation, if attending in person.

Additionally, we are excited to offer an optional post-conference ethnobotanical field study in Taitung from December 6–8. A detailed itinerary will be shared with participants.

The event brings together leading experts to explore the intersection of food practices and archaeology, and we believe your insights and participation will greatly enrich the discussions. We look forward to welcoming you to this engaging and informative conference. Please confirm your attendance and return your information at your earliest convenience.

Best regards,
