The Marco Polo Centre for Global Europe-Asia Connections (MaP) at the Department of Asian and North African Studies, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, invites applications for a funded Visiting Scholar position with Publication Grant.
The call is open to early-career and established scholars affiliated with academic or research institutions outside Ca’ Foscari University. Applicants should work on topics relevant to Asia-Europe connections, including but not limited to history, literature, art history and archaeology, religion, linguistics, anthropology, and area studies.
The selected Visiting Scholar will spend a minimum of 45 consecutive days at MaP before July 2027, working on a manuscript intended for publication in the Marco Polo Book Series OA Gold. The manuscript is expected to be at an advanced stage upon acceptance of the grant and should be submitted for publication by 31 August 2027.
The grant provides up to €10,000, including €4,000 for travel and subsistence and up to €6,000 to cover publication expenses with Edizioni Ca’ Foscari.
Applicants should submit a single PDF including a cover letter, CV, ID document, proposed dates of visit, and a book project outline of up to 1,000 words. Applications should be sent to ricerca.dsaam@unive.it
